Parker's First Soccer Game!

That's right! I am officially a soccer mom! Saturday was Parker's first soccer game. We should have know what we were in for when he freaked out getting dressed. He refused to wear his shin guards and didn't want to wear his soccer socks either. The smallest size they had left was a youth small and it absolutely drowns him! We got there early to warm up and practice with his coach. He did really well with that part. Then there was some confusion about what field we were supposed to be on. After switching fields and finding out we had to go to another one he said, "Are we done?" The game hadn't even started yet. Oh boy, we were in trouble! He did ok during the game. He went in several times and even kicked the ball a few times. Then he got knocked over and he was done! We signed up to bring treats that day and that's all he cared about after his very minor collision. He sat on my lap and played in the grass for most of the last quarter and then helped me pass out the treats. We'll see how he does next week! Bryan and I kept saying to each other, "This is surreal!" We couldn't believe we were at our own child's soccer game! It's been a long time coming and I am enjoying every minute of it! Here a few pictures I managed to get!
Practicing before the game

Very important to stretch!
Parker's friend Zach is on his team. He was very upset because all he wanted to do was play with the coach's whistle!
